Senior Paralegal – Family & Criminal Trial‑Ready

Pax Law Corporation is seeking a Senior Paralegal with a minimum of ten years of experience who is fully trial‑ready in both family and criminal matters. The successful candidate will be able to independently prepare BC family trials and criminal trials from beginning to end, manage complex litigation files with precision, and support counsel in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments. This role requires exceptional organization, drafting ability, and courtroom‑support experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Trial Preparation — Independently prepare BC family and criminal trials, including pleadings, affidavits, applications, disclosure, trial briefs, exhibit books, and post‑trial steps.
- Litigation File Management — Maintain complete control over evidence, deadlines, and procedural requirements.
- Court Document Drafting — Draft and file all Provincial and Supreme Court materials with accuracy and minimal supervision.
- Client & Counsel Coordination — Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process.
- Legal Research — Conduct targeted research to support trial strategy and evidentiary development.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of paralegal experience in family and/or criminal litigation
- Proven ability to prepare trials independently from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of BC court rules and procedures
- Excellent drafting, organization, and litigation‑support skills
- Proficiency with legal practice software and Microsoft Office
Compensation
- Salary: $70,000–$90,000 depending on experience
- Vacation: Two weeks paid vacation from the first year
- Benefits: No extended health, dental, or additional benefits
